I started reading this...very odd beginning, but a few chapters in, I'm getting into it. I was surprised by the writing style. The author does not come out and explain things. References are made to people and things about which you have no clue who or what they are yet. The main character is cagey and mysterious. The book starts off putting you already into the story unfolding - kind of as if you walked into a conversation that had already started and you missed the beginning. It's not a "let's begin at the beginning" type of thing, which is kind of my mind's go-to mode, but I appreciate this nuance and challenge.
