It’s so great to see so many people smashing their Goodreads reading goals this year and setting new goals to read for the new year! As a former English teacher, it’s great to see so many people excited about reading. I’ve also seen a lot of people who got back into reading this year. Some of you haven’t read in a long time but this year, you got back into it and you finished a book. You may have finished more books than you have in a long time. You’re doing great! I’m really excited for you too bc you’ve gotten back to reading which I’m sure you missed a lot. I’m glad you’re here. FWIW, if you’re considering setting a Goodreads Challenge but feel intimidated or worry about not meeting expectations, Ive been setting my Goodreads Challenge to 12 books. I don’t really set out to read 12 books but instead, I make it my intention to read every month. If I finish a book, great. If not, no big deal bc I read! Remember reading is supposed to be fun! I used to tell my students that it didn’t matter how many books you finished. As long as you had fun reading, that’s all that matters! Congratulations to everyone who read and had fun! Next year is going to be awesome!
