DREAMS ARE WISER THAN WAKING Each Neverland is unique to the dreamer. So each child has their own Neverland to visit in their dreams. The Neverland in J.M. Barrie's tale of Peter Pan, has adventure, comradeship, pirates, mermaids, Indians, fairies, and a boy with pointy ears, who never grows up and can fly. I feel the romanticism of motherhood is one of the main themes in this classic fantasy tale. In Peter Pan, there are no romantic feelings between Peter and Wendy, but feelings of endearment, of caregiver, and a caregiver's charge. Their relationship is complicated. Peter teaches Wendy what it means to grow up, and Wendy teaches Peter what it means to not be so selfish. Truthfully, there is so much more to discern from this children's fantastical story. Several themes could be investigated. I think the important thing is just to enjoy the story of Peter Pan. #OCTheNest #WordsAndWhimsy
