Hey Words & Whimsy! Today on #ThrowbackThursday we're revisiting the 60's in a nod to our current reading challenge on The Nest, Good Vibrations! I was a 70's baby and an 80's kid, so I was aware of The Beatles, but not that interested because they were before my time. And then I saw Let It Be the musical. It's a tribute show that spotlights each era of their career, with a final concert as if they had gotten back together, and I was hooked! I suddenly couldn't get enough and I wanted to know everything about them, so I guess I can understand Beatlemania now! In my exploration of all things Beatles, I came across Dreaming the Beatles by Rob Sheffield, who is a contributing editor to Rolling Stone with 5 New York Times Bestselling books to his name, all on music and how and why it affects us the way it does. I felt I could trust Rob to be careful with my new found Beatles love. This was such an interesting read covering all areas of the phenomenon that was and still is this band. From the wacky to the poignant, from the fame to the conspiracy theories, this book is a group of essays about different time periods and aspects of the band and I enjoyed it all! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28446162-dreaming-the-beatles
