Happy #throwbackthursday Words & Whimsy! Let's check out some great backlist you may have missed! In homage to this months reading challenge over on The Nest, we're going way back to the Jurassic age today by way of 1800's Lyme Regis, in the English county of Dorset. That was where Mary Anning lived, and made many first time discoveries while fossil hunting along the shores and cliffs. The Fossil Hunter by Shelley Emling, is Mary's biography, spotlighting one of the most overlooked contributors to Paleontology as we know it. I'm all about returning women to their rightful place in the sciences, and bringing to light discoveries made by women who did not receive the credit they were due. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6538811-the-fossil-hunter Here is an article from the Natural History Museum in London that contains photos of her notes and finds. https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/mary-anning-unsung-hero.html
