The prompt makes me think about wearing masks and hiding your true self and your true intentions. Kind of like a secret identity or hiding what you truly want. The Shadows Between Us fits this prompt perfectly I believe. The a ball at the start of the book is just added bonus haha. The main character Alessandra hides her true intentions from the Shadow King, which fits with wearing a mask and hiding behind it. It really is such a good book with amazing morally grey characters!
